  1. To start with, thanks our friends for their efforts to provide us with these enjoyable and successful presentations…

For Merve Hopa and Ayşenur Erdemir’s presentation,

The usage of the board to form a concept map is a beneficial way to prepare the students for the reading passage. It provides students with visual data, as well. Secondly, organising the text according to the order is a good way to make the students skim and scan the reading text. Moreover, the activity which includes writing a mini story by using some vocabulary from the reading passage is a good one because the students have a opportunity to learn how to use the vocabulary in context with the help of this activity. Ppt usage is beneficial, as well. They made various activities and the instructions that they gave during the activities were clear. However; They may have used some pictures about the vocabulary to make them more concrete in the students’ minds and they may have given the story forming activity which they gave during the post-reading part as homework because it may take time durinf the class. Overall, it was a successful presentation.:)

For Dilara Arpacı and Merve Işık’s presentation,

The way of communication was very good, they were friendly. The instructions were smooth and so clear that we didn’t get lost during the activities. They provided us with some visual data by using powerpoint so it helped to attract the students’ attention to the reading passage. Students participated actively in the class, there were an interactive class environment. However; they may have given homework as a follow-up activity. The activity which includes looking at the mirror and saying bloody marry may be improved because students may not want to participate in the role play. In my opinion, it was a well-prepared and enjoyable presentation.:)

For Mehmet Durmaz and Burcu Kök’s presentation,

The topic of the reading passage was interesting, so it appealed students’ attraction for the followingactivities. Concept mapping was also a beneficial way to refresh students’ already existing schemata in their minds. The post-reading activities were various enough to appeal the interests of the students and to make them focus on the activities. The last activity which includes forming groups and trying to find the advantages and disadvantages of being first, second and last born was the part that I liked most. By this way students had an chance to share their opinions about the topic with their friends. It was also a well-prepared and successful presentation.:)

  2. I agree with my friend Rüveyda and thank all my friends for their really effective presentations. In my opinion, all of the presentations that I observed were very good except a few points that should be improved. All presenters embellished their reading stages with different activities that were very suitable for every step of the lesson. Their topics were interesting enough to draw our attentions to the reading passages. To make the meaning clear which is one of the aims of reading, they asked comprehension questions, used true/false statements and multiple choice questions. In pre-reading stages, they gave us charts to have us predict the content through vocabulary. All of the presenters used visual aids. Mehmet and Burcu’s post-reading activity was very enjoyable because they made all of us in a way related to the topic and gave us the chance to speak in the class by saying advantageous or disadvantageous aspects of being first, middle or last-born children. Semra and Rüveyda’s ordering the mixed paragraphs of the text and telling again the story to the class were also very creative, I liked it; but one bad side of their presentation was the length of their reading text. I think it could have been a little bit shorter or they could have given us much more time to read it in detail. In Merve and Dilara’s presentation, the activity of choosing the best title for each paragraph was very meaningful because through that activity, we understood the whole text clearly to find the correct answers and they asked us why we selected them and we explained our claims by giving examples from the text. And lastly Ayşenur and Merve’s activity that was constructing the reading passage by putting the paragraphs in correct order was very good. It seemed a little bit challenging and this made us motivated to do correct ordering. Even if we did mistakes, all of the presenters corrected us gently; this was also good side of their teaching.
To conclude, all the presentations were both enjoyable and informative. We had both fun and at the same time learned many new things or activated our previous knowledge. Actually this is the most important objective of these presentations, so the presenters did their job very well and reached their aims. I think all of them will be good teachers in near future.

  3. For Merve Hopa and Ayşenur Erdemir’s presentation,
The concept map she drew on the board was a classy opening, as far as a reading activity is concerned. Because, brainstorming on the concept(s) students will read provide students with a general knowledge and the familiarity about the overall passage. What’s more the activity in which they made us write a little story using the particular vocabulary from the passage is a good way to integrate writing into a reading focused lesson. However, in such an activity vocabulary that will be used should be clear or predefined so that students know the words and acquire the vocabulary better using them in a story which is their own creation.
For Mehmet Durmaz and Burcu Kök’s presentation,
First of all their topic choice was an excellent one, other than the fact that the activities and the transitions were smoothly done and speaking was well integrated into a reading based activity, their manner and the way they attended to the students were excellent. In the speaking activity they used the a topic related to the reading passage which the students found interesting and had no difficulty in understanding, therefore the students had no choice but express their own hypothesis in terms of the advantages of their own birth order.

  4. First of all, All presentations were really successful. My friends’ preparations were excellent. All presenters covered all reading stages successfully. To start with Rüveyda and Semra’s presentation, their activities were really good. Their topic was interesting enough to get the attention of the students. Since they used colorful cartoons and pictures to retell the story, students got interested very well. Visual aids in the presentation helped students comprehend the text better. As the teachers – Rüveyda and Semra- were always smiling, the lesson passed enjoyable. Students need such kind of teachers in real life, too. 
Merve and Ayşenur’s presentation was another good example. They started the lesson making word mapping about flying concept and this helped to get students’ attention to the lesson and the topic. Their power point pictures were also related to the words, so the students could understand the concrete meanings clearly. The activity, which was constructing the reading passage by putting the paragraphs in correct order, was great.
The topic which Mehmet and Burcu selected for the lesson was realy good, because it is such a topic that every person can easily get interested in it. Birth order is a topic which people like to talk and read about. They again used word mapping as the first activity, and this made easier to understand the text. Their last activity was really successful in many ways. First it was interesting to make groups according to the birth order of the students and as second talking and writing about the birth order of that group was really enjoyable and interactive.
Each presentation was really awesome. I see my friends as the great teachers of the future

  5. my comments for Aysenur and Merve's presentations:
as a whole, it was well-organized and enjoyable lesson.Although the topic was a bit scientific since it tells about the history of flying, they were able to make the lesson enjoyable.word mapping was a really good technique to take students' attentio to the reading passage at the beginnig of the lesson and it also increase comprehension by expecting studetns to make guesses.forming a whole passage from parts was also another creative activity which also increases comprehension and participation of the students.also there were some comprehension questions which make the understanding more easy.as a last activity, they asked us to imagine a hero and create a story by using the words on the board.this was my favourite activity.the whole class was really active and we all enjoyed really a lot.through this activity,we used our creativity and imagination which was also good point, I think.
my comments for Mehmet and Burcu's presentation:
they also used word map technique,we made guesses about the possible words in the reading passage.they also distributed ahandout which includes some words and they asked us to make guesses whether they were in the text or not and then we checked our guesses.this was really effective activity, I think.by this pre reading activity, they prepared us to the topic,we were both mentally and psychologically prepared for the topic.they distributed us another handout which includes various question types and by giving comprehensible and ample input, they tried to increase comprehension and it really worked.as a post activity, they use ddiscussion technique, their topic was really interesting and by using this they formed groups and expected us to make a discussion.it was really enjoyful and interactive activity.I think, the whole class really enjoyed it.applying the topic on our daily lives was very useful strategy,I think.as a whole, my friends were really professional and well-prepared.
my comment for Rüveyda and Semra's presentation:
they also used word mapping,as I said before it really worked to take students attention to the topic and to make the reading more comprehensible.they showed some pictures realted to topic which was very effective strategy to make learning more comprehensible and permanent.they also used various activities and the most striking point among them was the one that they showed the pictures of the words that they asked in the matching acitivity.they also wanted us to practiced their pronouncations.it was really and really useful technique,it reminded me that it was not just a reading lesson, it was an integrated lesson.as a last activity, they expected us to form a whole from parts.actually ı found it alone not very effective.but afterwards, they asked us to tell the story again by our sentences,so they made this activity more effective.as a whole,my friends were really friendly and motivating and it was a really enjoyful presentation.

  6. Hi! Thanks to our friends for their successful presentations. They were all enjoyable and well organized.
For Merve and Dilara’s presentation, they were good at generating interest in the topic. Visual aids were very much related to the topic. Every activity was well organized, and timing was good. They gave feedback to the students in a friendly way. In addition, during the activities they checked whether students are doing the tasks or not by wandering around the class. This helps students feel more relaxed because they will know that their teacher is there whenever they need help.

For Semra and Rüveyda’s presentation, visual aids were very attractive. Activities were well prepared. The activity of putting the paragraphs in the right order to form the story was an enjoyable one. Transitions between the activities were smooth. Pronunciation practise was also very useful for students because they need to know how to pronounce the new vocabulary besides learning its’ meaning. The asked the students to put themselves in the characters’ shoes and to write a letter, which is an efficient way of personalizing the newly learned knowledge.

For Merve and Ayşenur’s presentation, warm-up was nice. Instructions were explained clearly, in this way, upcoming problems related to the tasks were prevented. Students knew what to do. They gave feedback to students in a friendly way so that students felt more relaxed when participating in the activities.

For Burcu and Mehmet’s presentation, aims of the activities were clear. They gave clear explanations about the activities. Concept mapping was an efficient way to involve students in the subject matter. Post reading activity was the one I liked most because students had the chance to share their opinions and experiences related to their siblings and families.

To sum up, all the presentations were well prepared. They all did a good job. Thanks again for their time and effort. :)

  7. All presentations were good and thanks for my friends for their efforts.

For Irmak and Duygu's presentation: Their topic was interesting.Since Haloween isn't something related to our culture they compared it with Ramadan Feast.Comparing a little unfamiliar thing with a familiar one is a good technique and I liked it. They had really variety in their exercises(ccomprehension questions, matching activities, rearranging the words)and all activities were beneficial .They used also visual aids such as photos related to the topic. It was other point I liked.Generally liked their presentation.
For sulhan presentation: His topic was very familiar to us and also interesting .it made me read more enthusiastically and I believe it made everybody so.He showed pictures related to each sign.It was good because pictures facilitated learning and remembering their names. His exercises were also good . I really liked one of his activities. He wanted us to make groups with the ones with whom we are in the same elements.Everybody wrote their characteristics that they like and dislike . It was good activity because thanks to that activity we didn't learn only names of elements and their characteristics we also used them in a speaking activity.

For Derya and Seda's presentation: It was a very colourful presentation. Firstly their story was enjoyable and reading it was not boring. There was a true false activity but it wasn't classical activity:) They gave us smiling face and sad face , we showed them according to the answer. It is very good technique for beginners I think. The speaking activity for wish clauses was also very creative and every one in the classroom participated in the activity. Not only some of us but everbody in the clssroom participated in the activity.Their presentation was very good.

For Çiğdem and Ahmet's presentation: Their topic was one of the most enjoyable topics. Selecting cartoons as atopic is a good idea because all of us watched them and everyone in the classroom has some idea about them. This made reading more enjoyable.Matching the cartoon figures with their descriptions was good activity and drawing our own smurfs was very creative activity. They gave us some prizes during the lesson and it was a good way to increase participation.

  8. hi all!
firstly I want to congratulate all of my frieds for their success.

here is my comment on Merve Hopa&Aysenur Erdemi's presentation. they are both good at giving clear instructions, which helps students a lot.they used concept map by regarding the students ideas. thus, students had a chance to guess what the topic is about. another point that I want to mention is related to the order of the text. they wanted students to order the text which may have a positive effect of understanding the reading text.as a visual aid, they used power point presentation. all in all, it was a well-prepared presentation.

here is my comment for Dilara Arpacı&Merve Işık's presentation . I like the topic because it was an interesting topic and so it drew attention of the students.they both created such an environment that the students were likely to atttend the activites.ıN addition to this, the power point presentation was effective and it was suitabel for the topic. but as for the last activity, saying bloody mary, can be improved since the students did not volunteer to do it. ın general it was an interesting and a successful presentation.

here is my comment for Semra Küçük&Rüveyda Gündüz' presentation. first of all, they had a positive attitude towards the students which is beneficial.they distributed colorful cartoons and wanted students to retell the story. thus , they gave students a chance to talk and also this activity helped them to copmrehend the story better. besides, they gave clear instructions to the students and thus the students were able to perform the tasks in an efficient way. ıt was a well-organized and an enjoyable presentation.

  9. First I want to say that all the presentations were really nice. I enjoyoyed joining the lesson in all presentations.

I want to start with Dilara and Merve Işık's presentation they communicated with the students very good and they were really very organized. Activities and visual aids are really helpful for the students' understanding of the passage and the topic was really interesting. All the activities made sure that students take as much knowledge as possible. The last activity which is role play is very good it does not make students very excited because it does not require a real preparation for a role play.

For Rüveyda and Semra's presentation their presentation was really colorful. They used the visual aids very successfully enabling student's form and meaning association. Retelling the story by matching the pictures with sentences was also excellent. It was like a review for students who did not understand the passage exactly. Their activities also was very well- organized.
I thank all of my friends who presented their lessons, for giving us a wonderful time.

  10. For Dilara and merve,
They were so energetic and lively that we did not bored in any part of the lesson. Their topic (mirror) was interesting and it drew attention of the students. In warm up section power point presentation was useful. Activities were also useful and enjoyable, which we want to participate actively. There was an interactive class environment. The instructions were clear that we understand what we will do. However, the last activity can be improved to take students attention. May be it will be interesting for young learners.
Rüveyda and Semra were also good presenters in that their enthusiasm about what they do. The topic was interesting and activities were related. They used many materials such as cartoons, pictures, and power point presentation. Especially I like the most that they used pictures related to the words in one of the activities. Students can comprehend words better when they see their picture. The lesson was enjoyable because they were sympathetic and likable teachers of future ;) In addition, pronunciation practice after this vocabulary studying was also useful for students because besides the word’s meaning its pronunciation is essential to be able to be understood by others.

  11. This week’s presentations were also very good. I think everyone did their best to prepare and present their presentations. All micro-teaching tasks were completed very successfully.

Ahmet and Çiğdem’s presentation topic was pretty. We are always interested in cartoons and this choice was motivating for us to read the reading text. The topic was also easy to understand because we had some background knowledge on this issue. This had a huge effect on us to participate in the class activities. Reading passages were short. We weren’t bored while we were reading because every one of them mentioned different things. Furthermore, I liked the idea of rewarding very much. It was effective especially for young learners and it increased the number of students that wanted to answer the questions. And lastly, as a small but important detail, it was nice to see Ahmet wearing a dress that had one of the cartoon characters on it. I think he did this intentionally to attract our attention and also to make his costume relevant to the lesson topic.

The presentation of Irmak and Duygu had a lot of success. Their subject “Halloween” was very interesting. We gained cultural knowledge apart from the linguistic one. And the topic was also related to our approaching agenda “Bayram” They had a lot of variety in terms of their activities. They made us draw something on the board, construct and rearrange sentences, match the words with their meanings, etc. Their instructions and explanations were very clear, so we weren’t lost in the lesson.

Seval and Gülden’s presentation was really both informative and fun. I learned many new things. Until their presentations, I hadn’t known the story, origin of the first marathon. It was very beneficial to get this knowledge. Their PPT presentation was also giving useful information. One of their comprehension questions was an open-ended one. It was asking our ideas. This was a good technique to make us speak and express our thoughts.

Sulhan’s presentation was also pleasant. It was a creative idea to write the reading text himself. He spent his time to make it original. I think he was very good at that. Even the title of the passage was enough to arouse curiosity. “Horoscopes” always attract people’s attention. We are very eager to know about them. Through this presentation, we learned the characteristics of our own horoscopes and elements. We had an idea about who were perfect matches for us. We did many different activities. In his post-reading activity, he grouped us according to our elements and made us speak about our traits that we liked and disliked.

Consequently, with the help of all these presentations, we see various techniques and methods of teaching reading; we share our ideas about how it can be made interesting, motivating and informative. Thanks all of my friends...

  12. For Merve Hopa and Ayşenur Erdemir’s presentation,
Their topic was very interesting and as a pre reading activity concept map was very useful. She wanted us to organize the article orderly, it was a good way to make students skim and scan because as this way we automatically made skimming and scanning. However they could have more activities. Post-reading activity was also very effective and useful. As we said during the lesson as a feedback it can also be homework.

For Dilara Arpacı and Merve Işık’s presentation,
Superstitions are very familiar to us and we can all say something about them. Therefore topic choice is good. Pictures were beneficial to attract students’ interest. We were active and participated. Post reading activity actually they said it was a contingency plan was a bit confusing. We didn’t want to come in front of class because we didn’t understand clearly what to do. Moreover they didn’t give homework.

For Mehmet Durmaz and Burcu Kök’s presentation,
This presentation was also very good one. We all participated in class. The links between stages were smooth and activities were variable. The topic attracted us so much because we all have siblings and got interested in this issue. Pre listening activity and concept map was useful. Finally post reading activity was the best. Teacher made us speak so this lesson became not only reading lesson but also speaking integrated reading lesson. We all enjoyed during the lesson.

Thanks a lot for your presentations

  13. For Dilara and Merve’s presentation
I liked their topic very much. It took everybody’s attention, I guess. Their introduction part was great. First, they arose our curiosity and then they presented the topic. The Power Point was very effective in interesting the students. They were good at communicating with the class, instructions were clear and the activities were manageable.

    For Merve and Aysenur’s presentation.
At first, their topic didn’t interest me much, but during the class I didn’t get bored. They were good at giving clear instructions and nobody was lost in the class. Also, while doing the activities they walked around and asked whether the students needed any help or clarification which showed their positive attitude towards their students.

    For Semra and Rüveyda’s Presentation
They were very sympathetic, as usual I liked their topic and the way they introduced it. Their using PPP and pictures during the class helped the students to concentrate on the topic. Their activities were really effective. Especially, putting the paragraphs into the right order activity is great and their showing pictures of the vocabulary is good in terms of both learning their meanings better and remembering them for a long time. Their pronunciation activity was good, too. Only problem was that their reading text was very long and they gave little time for analyzing it. However, theirs was a really efficient lesson.
    For Mehmet and Burcu’s Presentation
Their topic was also an interesting one. The introduction part was good. They prepared the class for the topic. They showed a picture related to the topic and wanted the students to make some guesses. Their activities were manageable and well organized and appropriate for the specific parts of the lesson. They were good at communicating with the class and conveying the meanings. I think, the post reading art was great. They wanted the class to form groups according to their being first, middle or last born. That was really good, there was interaction among the students and we enjoyed talking about this topic.

  14. for Cennet and Ilkay's presentatıon;
They chose a relevant topic to our country and this is both good for students and bad.It is good because students like speaking on familiar topic and they may be more interested in the lesson and topic. However they may get bored since the topic is familiar them. They gave the meaning of word with related pictures and they didn't only give the meaning, they wanted us to use them in sentences. It was good for students to acquire new words more efficiently. They can add one while reading activity because there is one vocabulary activity. They can also make true false activity.
    For Selman and Mustafa's presentation
Fierst of all they were very fiendly and helpful teachers. They showed us picturs about animals and asked us to say what comes to our minds when we see those animals. It was both enjoyable and beneficial because it prepared us for the lesson very well.Their activities were very well prepared and we didn't just answer the questions. When we made mistakes while answering they corrected us.I really like their presentation. The only poin I want to say is that their voice was abit low and the passage was a bit long. However, their presentation was really good.
    For Pınar presentation;
She used colourful papers and they attracted my interest altough Iam an adult,So I believe that it can really work with young learners. She was a helpful and smiling teacher and confident. It was different from the classical lesson.Role activity was a good idea but instead of doing it in while reading ,she may prefer to use it in post reading.Because oredering them was a bit difficult. She wanted us to justify our answers in true false activity.
    For Gokhan's presentation ;
He showed many picture related to vocabulary. Those pictures enabled us to learn them easier. He explained the words whose meaning weren't known by students clearly. He started the lesson in a good way by saying "I watched a documentary". His passage was very informative. We learned a lot of vocabulary but I think vocabulary was abit difficult for his target level.

  16. I think the last presenters and their presentations were also very enjoyable, informative and successful. Every one of my friends seemed to have prepared for his/her micro-teaching lesson. They did their jobs very well. Although they presented at the last week, their topics and activities were not classical. Especially Mustafa and Selman's topic was the most interesting one that I had ever seen until that day. Even though we are advanced learners, we had some difficulties in their activities. They were not very easy, they were a bit challenging. In my opinion, my friends Cennet and İlkay will be good teachers in near future. During their presentations, they seemed very relax. They presented their topic clamly or without showing their stress or excitement. It was very nice for the students. In Gökhan's presentation, the point that most attracted my attention was his ability of class management. When we laughed at something, he warned us and told us to do the activities instead of laughing. This will help him very much when he is in a real classroom environment. And he was also very smiling teacher. We didn't get bored in his lesson. Pınar was also very successful in choosing relevant activities to her topic. She monitored us while we were doing our tasks. It was very good. As a consequence, I can say that I like all of the presentations of my friends. I thank all of them...

  17. hi all, first of al I want to state thet all the micro teachings are quite successful and I am glad to notice that all of my friends have improved a lot and gained experience since the last year which is good for the practice teaching and their future career.
for Merve Hopa and Ayşenur's presentation:
they were good at mind mapping and their transitions between the activies are especially good. their activities are at the srudents' level and they had a well planned lesson.also, they have a friendly way of giving feedback that's why everybody is willing to participate their lesson. besides, throughout the lesson they made us feel that they are controlling our activities and that is perfect for keeping students' on work.
    Mehmet and Burcu's Presentation:
I think their presentation was academic. They looked very professional to me. their gestures and the way they gave instructions were all very professional. their topic was also good but the best part is that at the end Mehmet said No matter you are middle first or last childre if you are happy with your situation It is OK. I think that makes students comfortable and pleased.
    Merve and Dilara's presentation:
I really enjoyed in their presentation::) Their lesson was very colorful and they were very warm teachers. they were really good communicators. Their PPT was also very successful and they achieved tp generate interest among students. their bloody Mary activity can be successful students were not willing to participate. I do not know why. Maybe students just felt shy.
    Semra and Rüveyda's presentation:
their topic was very related to students' lives. thus, students can make lessoon integrate to their lives and learning becomes permanent. therefore, I believe their lesson was very good. They were calm and they did not hurry up students. they really prepared well. I liked their lesson:)
    Irmak and Duygu's presentation:
they were really energetic teachers. they choose a colorful topic and they used good techniques. for example duygu wanted a student to form a sentence with a new word.they were not typical teachers. therefore, I believe they are candidates to be students' favourite teachers in future.
    Ahmet and Çiğdem's presentation:
Their presentation was my favourite. It was very colorful and very enjoyable. their topic was great. I had a really good time while listening to them. Çiğdem's speaking was also very good. AHmet was wearing A-Thirt which was related to their topic. I think it was a great idea as students felt teacher took the topic serious. so I think their lesson was a really good one:)
