I watched this video also at a conferance of out department. ın this conferance we had a presentation about how to use wiki's in a writing class. after that presenatation I have started to think using wikis in my future courses. they seem as good alternatives for the tarditonal writing papers. wikis are both creative and productive. students can creat their own wikis or teacher can create a wiki and students can write their home works on it. giving feedback on wikis are also easier I think. therefore, I like wikis they are new technology and handy:)
Hi, I have also watched the video. I think wikis are a good way of motivating students to develop their language skills such as writing. It might be more enjoyable than the traditional writing courses because in our age students are very much into technology. If we use technology in our lessons, they will be more interested in the subject matter and more enthusiastic to participate in the learning process. I think of using wikis in the future as well. By integrating technology into our classes, we can create more enjoyable learning environments so that success will increase, too. I have found a wiki about vocabulary. It seems interesting. You can have a look at it. Here is the link: http://caewords.wikispaces.com/
Like Seda I also watched this video and I think this can be a good technique especially for vocabulary learning but I believe that this kind of technological sites like blogs or wikis are not very interesting and most of the students don't care these kinds of things and don't want to spend time to write something for them. So I don't think I will use blogs or wikis etc but if the students have a potential to do this kind of things, we should learn everything to provide their needs and teach everthing.
Hi, everyone! I know you got bored to hear this sentence, but I also watched this video before. It is both informative and enjoyable. It explains how we can use “wikis” in writing environment. I think it can easily replace classical methods in writing in this technology and information age because nowadays students don’t want to learn with traditional methods. They seek for new ones. For this reason, wikis can be good alternative and cure to their interests and needs. Furthermore, with the help of wikis, teachers can also have the chance to keep up with the novel things in the field of education in terms of technology. As a last thing, I also want to thank my friend Cennet for providing us with a useful link of a wiki about vocabulary. It was very kind of her to share this site with us. Thank you so much:))
Hi, all! This is a really nice video which informs us the different writing methods from the traditional ones as you all emphasized. It also explains how to use wikis in the writing lessons as Derya underlined. Actually, it would help students see their peers' different ideas and they can also add and save theirs which is an enjyable activity. In a real classroom, some stduents find it hard to talk about their feelings or hesitate to talk in the lessons. However, with the help of technology, they can express themselves. Since these wikis are done with cooperation, they can easily get contact with their friends. Integrating new methods to the lessons generally catches the interest of students and makes the lessons more bearable.
I think we all watched this video before. I dont know when but we watched it together may be in a lesson:S This method is very useful and it can be used for mail groups as the speaker said. It is easy to use and I think nobody has problem with it even the people can not use email. In addition it is also helpful for students to see their friends' ideas and it improves students' collaboration.
Firstly, video was great. Thanks for sharing it. And wikis are cool. We had been using it for writing, organizing and publishing documentation for a software project I was working on. The most important feature of a wiki is, everyone is able to edit the text. So it makes collaborating on a writing very easy. Also it allows tracking revisions and rolling edits back. I'm sure it can be quite affective in writing activities as well.
